Connie Meisinger is the owner of House on the Hill, a manufacturer of cookie molds replicated from hand carved wooden molds mostly antique and some newly carved cookie presses. She grew up enjoying her grandmother’s Springerle cookies and started making her own in the 80’s. Connie became a customer of House on the Hill in the early 90’s and purchased the business in 2002. Sharing her in-depth knowledge of cookie molds and their use has been a labor of love in cooking classes across the Midwest for more than a dozen years.
Don’t be intimidated by cookie molds! This class is a great introduction to using traditional cookie molds. In this hands-on class, you will learn to properly press your own Frankfurter Brenton cookies and take them home to bake the next day. Frankfurter Brenton cookies are sweet almond-based cookies which can be backed with chocolate to make a delicious chocolate-almond confection. Connie will teach you all her tips and tricks for success. Not crazy about almond? You will also practice using cookie molds to form easy marzipan toppers for cupcakes. There will be samples of other molded cookies and some guidance in mold selection for various types of molded cookies.
