Karen will bake two layers of yellow cake for each student before the 1st class. Each student will bring that same cake back to classes 2 and 3, as we “build” on it for all three classes. Bakery boxes and cardboard rounds will be provided for transporting.

You will leave these classes with all the equipment you need to practice your new skills. In addition to the two cake layers and the icings you will use to decorate, and the bakery boxes and cardboard rounds for transporting, you will receive pastry bags, couplers, 9 icing tips, 2 offset spatulas, and a 12” turntable.

KAREN HARMON is the chef/owner of Karen’s Culinary Creations in Dayton, Ohio. She is a graduate of Sinclair Community College, with degrees in both Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management, and has participated successfully in several culinary competitions sanctioned by the ACF (American Culinary Federation). She has worked in restaurants, but now she owns her own business and bakes and sells her cheesecakes and her granola to local gourmet markets, including Dorothy Lane Market in the Dayton area. She is delighted to join us at Cooks’Wares to share her expertise and enthusiasm.
