"Classic French Bread"
with Kathy Lehr
(Limited to 12 students)

We will begin this class by using a Roasted Red and Black Pepper dough and Pesto dough to form a two-colored Christmas braid. This will become This is an encore presentation of one of Kathy’s most popular classes. Follow her through the basic chemistry of combining yeast, flour, water and salt. Once this is mastered you will be producing beautiful and tasty breads. You will be working with various mixing and shaping techniques as well as baking methods for perfect French Bread. Your confidence will grow as you shape your own loaves and taste the results of your efforts. You will take some dough home and bake in your own oven. Please bring a medium size bowl and some brown lunch bags.

She was mentored by French Chef Danielle Forrestier, and trained with Jeff Hamelman, James McGuire, and Peter Reinhart. and has been teaching cooking classes for 20 years. Her recently released DVD, “Classic French Bread and More…” is a guide through the art of bread making. Kathy is an expert when it comes to helping people understand the chemistry of bread making, build confidence and gain the ability to bake perfect breads any time!
