Dubbed by Cincinnati Magazine, “BBQ Maven” GEORGE COOK and “Slim” JOHN AUGUSTIN are not the typical culinary instructors.  George’s degree is in mechanical engineering and works at GE Aviation.  John’s degree is in marketing and he has been part of the computer software business for financial institutions for over 40 years.  George and John are multi-talented, however, as they are also the head chefs for the Cincinnati based BBQ team “Hog Heaven”, which qualified for 11 appearances and has won 4 trophies (Ribs twice, Hot Wings, and Sauce) at the World Championship BBQ Cooking Competition in Memphis, Tennessee.  The team’s chicken finished in the top 10 in the ‘Memphis in May’ World BBQ Championship and the beef brisket finished in the top 6% at the Kansas City BBQ Society Grand Royal Contest!  The team’s trophy- winning BBQ sauce was sold locally for 5 years as “Bubba Brothers Gourmet Barbeque Sauce.”
