DAVID COOK, Chef/Owner of DaVeed's at 934, in Mt. Adams studied Chef Technology and Hotel/Motel Management at Cincinnati State Technical College.
He began his career as Sous Chef with the renowned Maisonette Group's Newport Beach in Kentucky and then as Roundsman at the famous five-star La Maisonette under Chef Georges Haidon.
While working full-time at La Maisonette, David also held a part-time position at Ciao Baby Cucina in Symmes Township, which led to his becoming the Corporate Unit Chef. However, David returned to La Maisonette to await the arrival of Executive Chef Jean Robert de Cavel upon Chef Haidon's retirement. Chef de Cavel promoted David to Executive Sous Chef of La Maisonette, and David went on to become Executive Chef of the Maisonette Group's Chester's Road House, where he made many changes.
After much success with the Maisonette Group restaurants, David longed for a restaurant of his own. He joined his wife, Liz, and opened DaVeed's @ 934 on September 21, 1999. His innovative approach to tailoring food and wine reflects his unique culinary background. Changing his menu daily, David has delighted discriminating palates throughout our region. At Daveed's, he conducts tasting menus, cooking classes, wine dinners and special events… all designed to further people's enjoyment and understanding of food and wine.
David is the driving force behind making DaVeed's nationally noteworthy. Its success is based on David's persistence. He knew that upscale yet comfortable dining with professional service and exceptional food was bound to find its way to smaller venues. David beat the rush, paving the way for other restaurants to follow.
Combining his culinary inventiveness and innovative concepts with wife Liz's restaurant management experience, he has created a highly acclaimed restaurant. Perennially ranked among the top ten restaurants by Cincinnati Magazine, DaVeed's reflects the culinary and creative talents of Chef David.
